Description

La Refene is one of Pommard's lesser-known Premier Cru vineyards, located below the larger Les Charmots site on the Cote d'Or. It produces dense, structured red wines with smoky, spicy characters and ripe tannins. The terroir is good for viticulture as it is deep and free draining, which stops vines from producing excessive vegetation growth. Instead, vines produce a smaller yield of concentrated berries with good flavor intensity.
