Les Grêchons' output is restricted to Chardonnay-based white. It is a less sophisticated but sometimes equally delicious Corton-Charlemagne styled Chardonnay. Wine from here, if the right producer is selected (Chevalier and Mallard come to mind), can be some of the best-valued white Burgundy. Nonetheless, it is obscure and difficult to find outside France.

From high on the hill in Ladoix, this is an upper slope rockhead’s delight. From stony, gravelly soils, this performs somewhat like a baby Corton blanc, its sense of breed and dynamism well worthy of its step up in the hierarchy to a higher status.

100% Chardonnay from vines between 40 and 50 years old. Partially fermented in oak barrels. Then all the fermented wine is aged in carefully selected barrels, made from wood of the forests of Allier and Vosges (50% new).
