Description

The vines are grown respecting Organic and Biodynamic Agriculture principles. The Domaine does not trim, and all the vines are plaited (like Leroy Domain does), which creates bridges between the vines. Yann wants to limit or stop the use of copper in the vinyard. The Domain uses herbal preparation and decoctions to treat plantation. Yann Durieux spend a lot of time observing the vineyard, making research to find right solutions. Yann invests in equipment such as light chaser to be able to intervene at any time, with the least impact on the soil. This balance and reinforcement of the plant will allow Yann to work more serenely then in the cellar. The Domaine's wines are systematically made every year without any inputs. The use of chaptalisation, sulphiting and other "Bon-Dieuseries" are proscribed from the Domaine. This is why wines are very marked by the vintage effect.

A re-release of one of Yann’s first cuvées from 2010... A 100% natural juice, from 1er Ponts, a brut de cuve from a clay-limestone parcel. The vines are 40 years old, facing south, at an altitude of 400 m in the commune of Villers-la-Faye, southwest of Nuits-Saint-Georges. No oak, 10 months in vats, and zero sulphites.

This pure, delicately extracted, weightless, yet very tasty wine is kind of the most expensive "Vin de France", but it is in the same line of finesse as Prieure Roch and Pacalet. These new labels from non classified vineyard suggests further possibility of Burgundy.
