Barbera, Nebbiolo

Wine Notes:
The Barbera is sourced form the Bionzo vineyard, harvested in the middle to end of September, the Nebbiolo in the beginning to middle of October; each variety is fermented separately for 7-8 days in temperature-controlled rotofermenters, while malolactic fermentation takes place in oak. The vineyard that Pin comes from was planted in 1975 on calcareous soils in Nieve. Maturation occurs entirely in new, medium toasted French oak for 16-18 months, after which the two wines are blended together and transferred to stainless steel vats for 2 months before bottling. The wine is cellared, in bottles, for another 3 months before release. 3500 cases produced.
