According to the Wine Spectator: "Juicy and direct, with a lightly roasted vanilla bean edge to the cherry, red currant and lavender notes. Drink now." (Web only, 2011) Séguret is located in the northern part of the Vaucluse, north of the Dentelles de Montmirail and west of Mont Ventoux. The village lies at the foot of a hill topped by the ruins of its feudal château. Séguret is one of the official "most beautiful villages in France", and thoroughly deserves this distinction.Séguret is not just a fine village, it also has land and people who produce an excellent "appellation contrôlée" wine: Côtes du Rhône Séguret. This wine is from the outstanding 2009 vintage and the wine is a knock-out. Deep cherry red color. The nose is dominated by very ripe black fruit notes (blackberries, black Currant), forest floor, and spices. The wine is dense on the palate with hints of black fruits, liqueur and fine spices such as anise. Best to enjoy in the next five years, try this with grilled steak or a prime rib roast. Spicy stews will be great also. 75% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre. 14% abv.
