Grenache, Syrah. Mourvèdre
There are touches of meaty, ripe black berries, vanilla, sweet spices and mocha. The silky, aromatic palate is structured by the mellow tannins that result from élevage in Bordeaux barrels.
Planted on the superb terroir of Montpeyroux, the domain was created by Aimé Commeyras, who comes for an old family of winemakers, and by Dr Pierre-Louis Teissedre, professor of enology at Bordeaux University. Today, the estate is managed by his brother Auguste Commeyras. He and his team produce two aromatic, delicious red wines: Côte Dorée and Côte Rousse. Produced from an austere terroir of limestone scree, Aiguelière's wines combine the flavours of Mediterranean grape varieties with tried and tested vinification methods.
