Description

Certainly one of the oldest and most beautiful of the Medoc, the castle La Tour Carnet is built in the twelfth century. He owes his name to the Ecuyer Carnet who receives it as an inheritance from Lord Jean de Foix as a reward for his bravery. Classified 4th Cru in 1855, its wine is at the time in the hands of the family of Leutken which gives him thus new hours of glory. Then touched like all by the diseases of the vine, the wars and the economic crises, it knows a long period of decline which ends in 1972 when the domain is acquired by Louis Lipschitz, Gironde owner. He restores the buildings and replanting the vines then passes the property to his daughter Marie-Claire Pélegrin in 1978.
